Solar Thermal

Solar thermal heating systems use energy from the Sun to contribute towards a building’s hot water needs and are highly economic solutions for all sizes of projects. Enviko can advise on suitable systems for smaller domestic homes, swimming pools to developments with large heating and hot water requirements.

We have considerable expertise in combining energy inputs from solar thermal systems with other technologies such as groundand air-source heat pumps and biomass boilers to maximise energy efficiency and reduce space and hot water heating costs together with generous government support schemes in the way of the “renewable heat incentive” from 2012.

Solar thermal is the most commonly installed form of solar energy currently in use today. The UK currently has around 120 MW of solar heating capacity installed nationwide. However, other European countries with similar climates have almost 50 times this amount. This demonstrates the huge untapped potential for cheap and environmentally friendly heating and hot water that is available in the UK.

Enviko offers a complete solar thermal solution to our clients. Our range of collectors fully integrate with both underfloor heating systems and heat pumps or can be fitted independently. All components are designed, manufactured and rigorously tested to the highest EU standards.

Depending on your requirements and preference, the panels can be installed in three different ways:

1. Roof-mounted - the panels are fitted directly on top of the roof tiles.

2. Flat-roof installation - the panels are secured onto frames that are fixed to the flat roof.

3. Integrated roof installation - for a more aesthetic look the roof tiles align with the panel within the roof-line. This is particularly economic for a new build as the panels can replace tiles - saving on cost. Our Solar thermal panels come in two main types: Flat plate and evacuated tubes. The operation of both systems is much the same though the performance and cost differ.

Enviko installs and services solar thermal systems to a wide array of clients to both commercial and private sectors. We work closely with our suppliers installing the best equipment to make sure that our systems are going to perform to their maximum potential ensuring our clients get maximum value and complete satisfaction from their investment. We install both evacuated tube collectors and flat plate collectors from recognised suppliers with pump stations and ancillary controls from equally reputable sources. Solar thermal systems are eligible for RHI incentives and will provide substantial savings from both hot water and heating requirements. Combining these systems with other technologies can often provide an optimum solution depending on client requirements.

Solar thermal heating systems, also known as solar hot water, capture the Sun’s heat and use it to raise the temperature of water. It is a clean and highly efficient means of utilising the suns energy to help contribute towards buildings hot water requirements.

This technology can be used for heating your house, getting hot water and even heating your swimming pool.
