Enviko is committed to helping to reduce carbon emissions in the built environment. Our Low Carbon Services team can offer help and advice at all stages of a project incorporating renewable energy into the built environment. Our proven track record in the fields of resource assessment and technology specification makes us ideal companions from project inception to completion.

Our independent status means we are not tied to one specific technology or product and can be relied upon to offer impartial advice. Our expertise encompasses microgeneration and building integrated renewable energy technologies as well as energy efficiency. We can provide renewable energy audits, resource assessments and technology advice to developers, architects, business owners, communities, planners and local government.

Our expertise covers the full range of low and zero carbon technologies:

A brief overview of the services that we provide is provided below:

Pre-feasibility/Options appraisal

Our feasibility and planning team offer a pre-feasibility/desktop study to clients who wish to evaluate site potential without committing to the expense of physical measurement.

Feasibility study

The team can further progress projects that show potential, as indicated by the pre-feasibility study or for clients who want to go straight to a feasibility study without the desktop study. Such studies involve a site visit, detailed site energy resource assessments, visual impact assessments, noise impact assessments, outline design and specification, potential layouts design, likely grid connection, financial viability, technical and environmental constraints and planning issues. Our experienced team have conducted numerous studies on all of the renewable resources available.

Project Development

If a site appears viable based on a feasibility study, the next step is to conduct field monitoring and measurements to get a true representation of energy resource at the site. Our team of experts can assess the resource available in wind, marine, hydro, biomass and solar. They will then size and optimise the project recommending the best technology for the resource available in relation to energy demand i.e. the amount of energy required. At this stage planning applications can be prepared and a technology assessment carried out.

Our technical services team provides a comprehensive wind monitoring service, all potential wind farm projects require reliable, comprehensive and coherent wind data to enable further analysis of, for example, wind farm layout optimisation and energy yield prediction. This team has extensive experience of managing the mast installation (10-70m), data recovery and decommissioning process of on-site anemometer masts for an array of clients.

In addition at this phase of a project Enviko can provide experts’ report, pre-contract document preparation and negotiations, bank’s engineer, environmental impact, operating and construction noise and shadow flicker for wind farms.

Due diligence

Enviko can assist investors or financiers interested in investing in renewable projects at any stage from greenfield, partially developed and operating renewable sites by carrying out technical, financial and legal due diligence assessment. We have extensive experience of carrying out due diligence assessment both within the UK and overseas.
