Planning
A major part of each project is the planning application stage which may often take the largest part of the project duration. Fortunately planners are increasingly looking favorably to small scale renewables and we have much success in applying for planning permission on behalf of landowners and businesses. Dealing with the planning authorities is all part of the service we provide when you purchase a wind turbine from us.
Enviko offer to carryout the full planning application process on behalf of the customer including:
-Initial consultation with the local authority
-Preparation of the planning application
-Technical dialog with local grid company for connection approval
-Supporting technical information
Many smaller wind turbines will not need planning permission however it is best to consult your local authority in any case, all wind turbines above 8 metres tall need planning permission. If the proposed
site for larger wind turbines (above 50kW) is in greenbelt or open land, demonstration of ‘very special circumstances’ will be required to obtain planning permission. This is essential as the project can not go ahead without it, we are more than happy to help you to obtain this.
Planning permission application is subject to a small fee and will take approximately 4 weeks to be granted.
The wind turbine will usually be between 9m and 15m tall We would always recommend the largest possible mast, the higher the mast the greater the wind speed. This will increase the power production of the turbine.
