3-month Internship available (2 positions) leading to full-time employment.

Enviko Ltd. has recently opened up a Scottish office in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire (Thainstone Centre, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire AB51 5XZ). Due to this expansion we have two internship positions available for recent graduates from an engineering or geography or other technical background.

The position will be based within our Inverurie, Aberdeenshire office and will predominantly focus upon the design, planning and installation of wind turbine, solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal systems.

The internship will involve the following activities for which you will be given full training:

Telephone answering;
Desktop survey (wind – planning constraints, grid connection limitations, RADAR issues);
Desktop survey (residential solar – shading calculations, system sizing, annual energy forecasting, project economics);
Wind Speed Monitoring data collection, cleaning and verification;
Equipment auditing, supply chain management;
Tender preparation;
Report writing (local planning policy, renewable energy guides);
CAD drawings preparation;
Site Plan preparation;
Attendance on-site during live project installations.

We would expect that the suitable candidate would have some previous relevant cross-transferable experience to be able to take to this work load easily. To that aim we would look for a number of the below capabilities:

Competence with MS Excel and MS Word;
Grammar, written skills;
CAD (AutoCAD or similar);
Familiarity with wind power basics;
General understanding of solar PV and thermal systems;
Numeracy and written skills as well as telephone manner are important.

All incurred work-related expenses (other than accommodation) will be met during the internship. At the culmination of the 3 month internship, if successfully developed we would expect to offer you the opportunity to join the company on a full-time role.

Student/Graduate required

Graduate or student required to work in a number of key areas across the office including sales tender preparation, renewable energy site surveys, on-site installation assistance (Solar PV, Solar thermal, Wind, ASHP etc.), report writing as well as general admin duties.

On the job training will be given to the recruit. Previous experience/understanding/interest in renewable energy systems preferable as would be relevant degree based education.

Solar Thermal/PV Installer Engineer

The applicant will install/assist in solar thermal and PV installations. Experience and qualifications in solar thermal would be an advantage. The applicant will also be expected to learn the installation of underfloor heating/ground source heat pumps. Once trained, the applicant will be in charge of a van and installation team.

Heat Pump Installer/Engineer

Experience in ground source heat pump installations would be an advantage, however we would also consider training for the right person. The applicant will also be expected to learn the installation of underfloor heating, solar thermal/PV. Once trained the applicant will be in charge of a van and team. The applicant should have NVQ 2 qualification in plumbing.
